Job Title: Security Engineer

This role focuses on protecting enterprise systems, networks, and data through hands-on security engineering and operational support. The Security Engineer works closely with IT, infrastructure, and application teams to implement controls, monitor threats, and respond to incidents, with an emphasis on execution and continuous improvement rather than high-level strategy.
Your role:
· Implement and maintain security controls to protect organizational data, systems, and technology assets.
· Support secure network and communication practices to ensure data confidentiality and integrity across environments.
· Administer identity and access management solutions, enforcing authentication, authorization, and least-privilege access.
· Design and support secure system and network architectures aligned with current threat landscapes.
· Conduct vulnerability scans, security assessments, and testing to identify and remediate risks.
· Monitor security alerts, investigate incidents, and execute response and remediation activities.
· Perform root cause analysis following incidents and contribute to incident response planning and improvements.
· Evaluate security risks and support compliance with established frameworks and regulatory requirements.
· Partner with development teams to embed security controls into the software development lifecycle.
· Promote secure coding practices and participate in application security reviews.
What you’ve got:
· Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
· Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information security, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
· Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with close attention to detail.
· Experience scripting or automating tasks using tools such as Python or PowerShell.
· Three to five years of experience in cybersecurity or a closely related technical role.
· Hands-on experience with security platforms such as Microsoft 365, Azure, endpoint protection, vulnerability scanning, and email security tools.
· Working knowledge of security frameworks and standards such as NIST, ISO 27001/27002, or CMMC.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical teams.
· Preferred: Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or similar credentials.
