Job Title: B2B Business Systems Analyst
Location: Phoenix, AZ - Hybrid
Employment Type: Contract
Works closely with internal business partners, customers, and suppliers to analyze, document, and implement EDI requirements for new and existing B2B integrations. This role is responsible for translating business requirements into detailed EDI mapping specifications, partnering with IT development teams, and performing hands-on testing through production readiness.
The position supports a large, time-bound onboarding initiative involving multiple customers and suppliers executing in parallel. The ideal candidate is an experienced EDI professional who can work independently, communicate clearly across technical and business teams, and manage multiple integrations simultaneously.
Strong working knowledge of ANSI X12 and EDIFACT is required.
Your role:
· Analyze and interpret business requirements for customer and supplier EDI transactions
· Translate requirements into clear, detailed system requirements and EDI mapping specifications for IT development
· Review mapping specifications with development teams and support solution design and issue resolution
· Support net-new implementations and enhancements
· Prepare and maintain process documentation and process maps to support automated EDI workflows
· Perform hands-on EDI testing, including: System Integration Testing (SIT); System Testing; and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with customers, suppliers, and internal partners
· Troubleshoot and resolve EDI mapping, data, and process issues identified during testing
· Facilitate and manage UAT cycles and support change management activities
· Work collaboratively with customers and suppliers, adapting to varying EDI requirements and testing approaches
· Support both net-new EDI implementations and enhancements to existing transactions
· Communicate clearly and effectively through written documentation, specifications, and stakeholder discussions
What you’ve got:
· 3–6+ years of EDI-related experience (senior-level; no junior or entry-level candidates)
· Hands-on experience creating EDI mapping specifications and supporting development teams
· Working knowledge of ANSI X12 and EDIFACT transaction standards
· Experience with purchase order–related transactions (POs, acknowledgments, forecasts, etc.)
· Strong understanding of business transaction lifecycles (order management, supply chain, customer/supplier integrations)
· Direct experience performing EDI testing (not coordination only)
· Ability to work independently with minimal ramp-up and supervision
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· Flexible, collaborative mindset when working with customers and suppliers who may have differing EDI standards and requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
· Background in manufacturing, distribution, or supply chain environments
· Experience supporting high-volume EDI onboarding initiatives
· Familiarity working in hybrid environments with some on-site collaboration
· Experience supporting global trading partners across multiple time zones
