Job Title: Senior Public Sector SaaS Sales Executive
Location: Phoenix, AZ
Compensation: $160,000 - $180,000 base salary + commission (DOE)

They are expanding their presence across state and local government agencies and are seeking a senior-level Public Sector SaaS Sales Executive to help drive strategic growth in this space.
The Opportunity
This is a senior, relationship-driven role focused on expanding adoption within complex public sector environments. You will leverage existing government relationships, navigate multi-stakeholder procurement processes, and lead large, consultative SaaS sales cycles across city and state agencies.
The ideal candidate brings deep experience selling into government organizations, understands funding cycles and procurement pathways, and can operate credibly with executive stakeholders across agencies.
You will own strategic accounts, lead complex pursuits from early positioning through contract execution, and partner closely with product and technical teams to ensure alignment with agency priorities and compliance requirements.
Responsibilities
• Develop and execute a strategic territory plan focused on expanding adoption across state, county, and municipal agencies
• Build and maintain trusted relationships with senior government stakeholders, procurement leaders, and agency decision makers
• Lead complex, multi-stakeholder SaaS sales cycles from early engagement through contract execution
• Drive and manage responses to formal procurement processes including RFPs, RFIs, and cooperative purchasing vehicles
• Identify and position opportunities ahead of formal procurement cycles through early engagement and relationship development
• Partner with internal technical and implementation teams to align solutions with agency requirements and compliance expectations
• Deliver executive-level presentations and demonstrations tailored to both technical and policy stakeholders
• Represent the organization at public sector conferences, working groups, and industry events
• Consistently achieve quarterly and annual revenue targets through new agency acquisition and strategic account expansion
• Maintain strong awareness of public sector funding models, compliance frameworks, and purchasing pathways
Qualifications
• 10+ years of enterprise or strategic B2B sales experience, with significant focus on public sector customers
• 5+ years selling SaaS or complex technology solutions into state, local, or municipal government environments
• Demonstrated success leading large, multi-stakeholder, RFP-driven sales cycles within government agencies
• Established relationships within Arizona state, county, or municipal government agencies strongly preferred; candidates should bring an existing network in the region or demonstrated experience selling into Arizona public sector accounts prior to relocation
• Deep familiarity with government procurement processes, cooperative purchasing vehicles, and funding cycles
• Experience positioning solutions prior to formal procurement issuance
• Strong executive presence with the ability to engage technical leaders, procurement stakeholders, and agency leadership
• Track record of meeting or exceeding quota in complex public sector sales environments
• Ability to operate independently in a high-visibility, strategic territory role
